The Global Renewables Summit is the first-ever high-level public-private summit to discuss the progress, opportunities, and challenges of tripling renewable energy globally by 2030.
Following the first Global Stocktake adopted at COP28 and captured in the historic UAE Consensus – which calls for tripling the world’s renewable energy capacity and doubling energy efficiency gains by 2030, and ensuring deep, rapid, and sustained reductions in greenhouse gas emissions in line with a pathway to limit global warming to 1.5 °C in a nationally determined manner – the Summit serves as a platform to advance key areas of action to scale-up renewable deployment this decade, especially in emerging markets and developing economies (EMDEs).
The organising partners represent a unique coalition of governments, private sector, philanthropy, international organisations, and academia, which demonstrates the collective momentum and drive to accelerate the pace and scale of the transition to renewable energy. It’s time for action.
Champion governments, multinational organisations, civil society and private-sector together for action on the global renewables target
High-level multi-stakeholder roundtables on strategic action areas including finance, supply chains, permitting and grids
Action-oriented outcomes to move rapidly from global commitments to national policies and local projects
The first milestone of GRA’s ‘Double Down, Triple Up’ campaign was reached at COP28 when world leaders agreed to triple global renewable energy capacity and double energy efficiency by 2030.
Now, it’s Time 4 Action. In the second phase of the campaign, GRA is uniting private sector, governments and civil society in a call on governments and policymakers to deliver on their commitment.
GRS24 is one of three key campaign moments in 2024, uniting global energy leaders to accelerate the global renewables deployment.
