Renewables powered security

This event convenes global and regional leaders in a high-level session to explore how electrification can serve as a central pathway to energy security and economic resilience in Asia-Pacific. As the region faces rapid growth in energy demand, the discussion will focus on how electrification powered by renewable energy can strengthen system resilience, reduce exposure to volatile fossil fuels, and support long-term price stability.

The session will highlight the importance of an integrated energy systems approach where renewable technologies work together in complementarity. By aligning generation, grid infrastructure, storage, and end-use sectors, electrification can deliver more resilient, cost-effective, and secure energy systems. The session will also provide a platform for collaboration across policy, industry, and finance to accelerate implementation ahead of key global energy targets.

Insights

Electrify Europe

The Electrify Asia-Pacific event is part of a series of regional activations driving momentum on electrification worldwide. The series was launched in Belgium, on 13 April 2026 with the event Electrify Europe, opened by EU Commissioner Dan Jørgensen and co-hosted by GRA and the Electrification Alliance. The event brought together key stakeholders to advance renewables-powered electrification as a pillar of energy security, competitiveness, and prosperity.

5 point Action plan

Attacks on critical infrastructure and disruptions to shipping through the Strait of Hormuz have triggered the most severe oil and gas market volatility since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022. In response to the crisis, the Global Renewables Alliance and our six global member associations have launched a 5-point action plan to break the cycle of energy crises.

Renewables Action Plan

The Global Renewables Alliance (GRA) has issued a statement launching a five-point Renewables Action Plan, calling on governments to urgently accelerate renewable energy deployment in response to renewed global energy price shocks.
