Despite record-breaking growth, renewables deployment is still way below achieving 1.5°C temperature goals and the global target to triple renewable energy by 2030.

Collective action from governments, individuals, communities, public and private sectors can make a difference and accelerate the pace of renewable energy growth. Political leaders have a chance to drive investment and accelerate the clean energy transition over the next 12 months by setting specific and actionable renewable energy targets in their NDCs and supporting global targets for energy storage and grids.

This letter to world leaders spells out this unique opportunity governments have to Now Deliver Change – it is supported by a global coalition of over 100 stakeholders from industry, finance and civil society.

André Corrêa do Lago to lead COP30 in Brazil

Our mission

Leading industry players have united to form a unified renewable energy voice: The Global Renewables Alliance.

The Global Renewables Alliance (GRA) was established by the Global Wind Energy Council, Global Solar Council, International Hydropower Association, Green Hydrogen Organisation, Long-Duration Energy Storage Council and the International Geothermal Association to unify the global bodies. Collectively we strengthen the private sector’s voice on accelerating the energy transition, working to tripleglobal renewable energy capacity by 2030 to at least 11,000 GW.

GRA at COP29

At COP29, GRA is partnering with the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA)  and our global members to co-host the Global Renewables Hub – a dedicated space for forward-thinking events, bilateral meetings, and impactful dialogues.

Building on the momentum from COP28, where the world set the ambitious global target to triple renewable energy by 2030, this hub will drive the 3xRenewables agenda to secure ambitious, specific and actionable renewable targets in the national climate plans (NDCs). With over 200 organisations worldwide signing onto our NDC call, we’re rallying for more supporters to amplify this critical movement.
