In response to the global energy crisis, the Global Renewables Alliance has issued a five-point Renewables Action Plan calling on governments to treat oil and gas price shocks as a turning point and accelerate renewable energy deployment.
The plan outlines practical actions to fast-track renewable energy projects, address grid and storage bottlenecks, mobilise investment, accelerate electrification and strengthen renewable supply chains. Together, these measures can strengthen energy security, reduce exposure to volatile global fuel markets and build more resilient energy systems powered by domestic renewable resources.
We are committed to a future powered by clean, secure, and just energy — renewables. A key milestone on this path is achieving the global target to triple renewable energy capacity by 2030, a goal co-led by GRA and endorsed by all UN nations at COP28 in 2023.
To deliver at least 11,000 GW of renewables by 2030, we establish, communicate, and drive action towards this target. We work in close partnership with governments, industry leaders, investors, NGOs, multilateral organisations, and corporations to accelerate the energy transition at the speed and scale the world needs.
The global target is set: triple renewable energy capacity by 2030. But how do we bridge the gap between high-level commitment and action on the ground?
Our events are the engines of this transformation. From the high-stakes diplomacy of the Global Renewables Summit in New York to the cutting-edge innovation of the Lisbon Future Dialogue and our high-impact presence at COP, we create the spaces where leaders, investors, and changemakers turn targets into reality.
