In partnership with Green Grids Initiative (GGI), Planning for Climate Coalition (PCC) and ReNew2030.
In many countries and jurisdictions, the deployment of grids is constrained due to access to finance and prolonged approval processes for the expansion and building of power grids severely impeding the integration of renewable technologies in the energy system. Fast and fair permitting of renewable energy and green hydrogen infrastructure is critical for the rapid up-take of clean electricity sources. This high impact roundtable aims to forge actionable strategies and innovative solutions to tackle the grid financing challenge for the Global South and generate fast, effective and trust-building permitting processes based on the work of the Planning for Climate Coalition.
