Organised by the Global Renewables Alliance.
24/7 Carbon-Free Energy has quickly emerged as a clean energy procurement framework that can accelerate decarbonization of electricity grids by targeting a portfolio of mature and emerging carbon-free energy technologies to match electricity demand around the clock. Yet the approach is still nascent in many markets, and constrained by policy barriers and low availability of market products to meet 24/7 CFE demand. This session is intended to identify needs for scaling 24/7 CFE as a business proposition, including through new funding models and new financial products. There is also a need to create opportunities for individual countries, cities, corporates and UN energy signatories to access climate finance to scale their efforts in advancing 24/7 CFE.
This event is open to invited participants interested in learning or supporting 24/7 CFE. Invitees include, but are not limited to government representatives, philanthropies, UN agencies, financial institutions, private sector representatives, investors, and renewable energy associations.
