Renewables powered security

This event brings together policymakers, industry leaders, and partners to advance the role of electrification and renewable energy in strengthening Europe’s energy security. At a time of continued exposure to volatile fossil fuel markets, the event highlights the urgent need to scale renewables-based electrification to stabilise costs, enhance competitiveness, and deliver a clean, secure and just energy future.

As momentum builds around the implementation of global climate commitments, this gathering will help shape the next phase of action, contributing to a broader international effort to accelerate electrification and increase the share of electricity in final energy consumption across Europe.

The electrification staircase

The Electrification Staircase is a practical framework that shows where electrification can deliver the greatest impact today, and how to prioritise solutions across sectors. By setting out a clear sequence for action, it helps policymakers and industry focus on the most efficient pathways to accelerate electrification, strengthen energy security, and advance the clean energy transition in Europe.

5 point Action plan

Attacks on critical infrastructure and disruptions to shipping through the Strait of Hormuz have triggered the most severe oil and gas market volatility since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022. In response to the crisis, the Global Renewables Alliance and our six global member associations have launched a 5-point action plan to break the cycle of energy crises.
