The Summit is closed door – by invitation only
The Global Renewables Summit returned to New York during the UN General Assembly and Climate Week NYC, bringing together heads of state, ministers, CEOs, investors and international organisations to accelerate the global clean energy transition.
Building on its landmark debut in 2024, the 2025 edition showcased the breakthroughs driving the renewable energy boom and set the stage for the next wave of political commitments and private-sector leadership.
Hosted by the Global Renewables Alliance in partnership with the European Commission, the COP30 Presidency, the Governments of Bahamas and Kenya, and the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), the Summit is a key milestone on the road to COP30 in Belém, Brazil.
Discussions focused on national energy plans, grids and storage, financing for emerging markets, and aligning action with the global goal to triple renewable capacity by 2030.
The Summit serves as a pivotal moment to turn ambition into action and unlock the full potential of renewables worldwide.
In The New York Times, the Global Renewables Alliance – alongside leading business organisations and companies placed an advert to update the global narrative:
Renewables are not just the energy of the future. They are the jobs, growth, and security of today.

The opening of the Global Renewables Summit, the High-Level Session on Renewable Energy Abundance, was co-hosted by Fortescue, Climate Group and the Global Renewables Alliance. It featured a powerful lineup of speakers from government, business, and international organisations.
